Forward Kommander Sorscha vs Grand Scrutator Severius
My second match that evening was against Erickson Kwok of An Exemplar's Road of War, using Grand Scrutator Severius. Sadly I wasn't able to take any pics of our game (it was one of those winding-down-the-hours type of game). This time around, he had a full unit of Bastions along with a full unit of Errants, plus a Templar and a Redeemer for warjacks.
With the funky damage manipulation of the Errants and the Bastions, it was difficult to break down the entirety of the Protectorate's numbers. Our scenario being Outfight, Outflank, Outlast, he will have a healthy source of models to control and contest the objective zones.
I tried to do a switch and bait, putting the Iron Fang Uhlans in the center (behind an obstruction), but good enough to swing to my left or right, depending on the task at hand. But going second, I know my force will take some shots from the Errants and the Redeemer on their way in.
On the onset of my second turn, Severius1 was dangerously close to my forces with one focus remaining. I had Sorscha2 Cyclone in closer to snag the Protectorate warcaster under Winter's Chill. With For The Motherland from Kovnik Grigorovich, a pair of Winter Guard Rocketeers laid Severius low, dealing serious damage. If that were not enough, the Behemoth with primed focus can finish the casterkill with boosted Bombards.
It was one of the shortest games I have participated in, but each move and die roll from both players were definitely crucial.
