Kommander Sorscha vs Garryth, Blade of Retribution

I only got to play one game last Saturday, April 21 at Schizo Art Cafe, and it was against Jacky Chan's Garryth, Blade of Retribution. Instead of the Old Witch, I brought a variant of a Sorscha1 list which included the two warjacks of the Khador starter box.  I hoped to demo properly to a new player at Schizo, but due to some domestic issues, he was not able to arrive.

Hobbycraft - Paint Storage

Swim! Swim, my paints!

There's a blazing summer sun outside, so I decided to share some tips with storing your paints.

Although I often say, "Better to let the paint go to waste, rather than let the miniature go to waste."  I should change it to, "Better to let the paint go to waste, rather than let the miniature go to waste.  But only while you ARE painting a miniature."

Some simple tricks to keep your paint from drying up prematurely:

1. Get a deep enough container and fill it with water up to a quarter or so of its height.  When you place your paints in it, the water level should rise up.  I try to keep the water level up to half the paint pot.

2. Keep your paint containers in a damp (BUT CLEAN) place - like your bathroom or under the sink.  Of course it helps if you have the entire house to yourself, or have a very open-minded companion.

3. Common sense would dictate that you DO NOT store your paint under direct sunlight, like near a window. Just a reminder.

My second match that evening was against Erickson Kwok of An Exemplar's Road of War, using Grand Scrutator Severius.  Sadly I wasn't able to take any pics of our game (it was one of those winding-down-the-hours type of game).  This time around, he had a full unit of Bastions along with a full unit of Errants, plus a Templar and a Redeemer for warjacks.

Taking advantage of the environment

Taking the Gun Carriage out of action for the meantime so its paintjob can get some improvement, I decided to use a different list for the Saturday Schizo gaming.  My first game that evening was against Jacky, who was getting as many battles as he can with Garryth and his newly-bought Mage Hunter Strike Force.

Playing A Flag Too Far, I decided to use the Butcher2 Gun Carriage force I left over at Schizo just to see if I can fare well against Louie's renowned Stryker1 Storm Surge.

Lost Hemisphere PTT March 2012

"Every time I get one of these I kinda want to go on a gaming tour of the Philippines. This one’s from Shink1m; someone explain to me why the heck we don’t see more Koldun Lords on the tabletop?!?!?!"

My first entry for Lost Hemisphere's Paint The Target challenge for March 2012.  The category was to paint something that has a spray or an AOE.  Well, hopefully we get a stronger showing for the April Challenge (During the month of April, paint a model that is NOT a warbeast, warjack or grunt.i.e., a warcaster, warlock, solo or UA).  I'll probably paint up Strakhov or Harkevich.  Or Markov.

Why the heck we don't see more Koldun Lords on the tabletop? Why indeed LOL  It's still a good magic shotgun IMHO.  But I guess there are better options to fill that last 2PC you'd have left over in your list.

My second game for that evening was my first game versus Schizo Boy Jacky and his Retribution of Scyrah.  What could be better for a first game than to play against a battle engine, right?
