Two Spriggans and Black Ivan lead the way to meet the Retribution of Scyrah |
My first game at Schizo Art Cafe and my first win using Harkevich. Here is when I recanted my previous hateful statements about Harkevich and his Broadsides spell.
The Retribution's Kaelyssa, Night's Whisper versus Kommander Harkevich, the Iron Wolf |
A lucky Bombard shot from Winter Guard Mortar gave Harkevich the opportunity to bring down Kaelyssa with boosted Hand Cannon shots |
With three heavy warjacks, I decided to make a solid push for the center and take the battle directly to the elves. An early The Vanishing from Kaelyssa prevented any effective shooting or charging from my force, but I went for his flanking Mage Hunter Assassins instead with a successful Man-O-War Drakhun charge and combined shooting from a Spriggan's Flare and Black Ivan's Bombard.
John used Backlash on one of my Spriggans, which he then proceeded to plink with Mage Hunter Strike Force `Jack Hunter shots. In order for me the alleviate that threat, I decided to focus heavily on dealing with the MHSF with combined shooting. This is where I was forced to use Broadsides - a Spriggan dropped a Flare and Black Ivan's last Bombard left only one Mage Hunter in that full squad after all that smoke cleared.
On the concluding turn, a lucky Mortar shot cleared a lane for Black Ivan to shoot at the Retribution warcaster. Kommander Harkevich then sealed the deal with boosting attack and damage rolls from his Hand Cannon.
